| DDO Daycare Operator Charged with Assault |
Feb 27, 2009
Back in May of 2008, William Parsons, 68, from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, was charged with sexually assaulting three children, aged between four and five. The alleged assaults would have taken place between September of 2007 and April of 2008, at Parsons’ own house, where he and his wife operate a home-based daycare service. Each of the three offenses is punishable by a prison term of 10 years at the most. Parsons was arrested soon after a parent of one the three children filed in a complaint against him. He was later released on bail under court order. His next court appearance is set for the fourth of May, 2009. A trial date will be scheduled then. What is more shocking in this whole affair is that two of the three children involved actually feel guilty and responsible for what’s happening to William Parsons. These developments reiterate the need for more regulation and monitoring of critical services such as daycares. In the absence of an official watchdog organization, SeekOdin invites all daycare users to participate in our online community by denouncing the wrong-doers in our listings, and praising the honest and hard-working businesses.
